Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights and choices available to you under California law.

1. Introduction and scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Chauffyr (“Chauffyr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit chauffyr.com (the “Site”), request a quote, make a reservation, or otherwise interact with us. It is designed to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA/CPRA”), and applies to California residents as well as other visitors.

This policy works together with our Cookie Policy, which describes the cookies and similar technologies used on the Site and your related choices.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you request a quote, make or manage a reservation, contact us, or apply as a partner, you may provide your name, email, phone number, pickup and drop-off details, flight or tail number, travel dates, passenger counts, vehicle preferences, company details, and messages you send us.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Site, we and our providers may automatically collect your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, interactions, approximate location derived from IP, and similar usage data through cookies and similar technologies.

Information from third parties

We may receive information from our payment processor (Stripe), our corporate-account reservation platform (MyLimoBiz), affiliates and chauffeurs who fulfill trips, and analytics or advertising providers. Card payments on chauffyr.com are processed by Stripe (card, Apple Pay or Google Pay); Chauffyr never sees or stores your full card number.

3. Categories of personal information (CCPA/CPRA)

In the last 12 months we may have collected the following categories:

  • Identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address, online/device identifiers).
  • Customer records (booking and contact details you provide).
  • Commercial information (services requested or reserved, quote history).
  • Internet or network activity (browsing and interaction data on the Site).
  • Geolocation data (approximate, derived from IP address).
  • Professional or employment information (for corporate or partner inquiries).
  • Inferences drawn from the above to reflect preferences.

We do not use the Site to collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, or precise geolocation.

4. How we use your information

  • Provide quotes, process and manage reservations, and coordinate transportation with chauffeurs and affiliates;
  • Communicate with you about bookings, changes, and support requests;
  • Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site and our services;
  • Provide flight-tracking, events, and the AI concierge;
  • Measure performance and, with consent where required, conduct analytics and advertising;
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect our rights and users.

5. How we disclose information

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf (hosting, analytics, communications, reservation platform).
  • Chauffeurs and affiliates who fulfill your trip, limited to what is needed.
  • Advertising partners (Google Ads measurement and remarketing), only when you switch on Marketing cookies or choose “Accept all”.
  • Mobile Text Alerts, for marketing measurement only (which public page was visited), only when you switch on Marketing cookies or choose “Accept all”. It is never loaded on quote, reservation, flight-tracker or text-alert pages, or on account and staff pages, and it shows no sign-up popup or form.
  • Legal and safety recipients, when required by law.
  • Successors in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to this policy.

6. Sale or sharing of personal information

Chauffyr does not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of certain analytics and advertising cookies may qualify as “selling” or “sharing” under the CCPA/CPRA. You have the right to opt out — enable a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser (which we honor for that browser/device), use our cookie banner, or email book@chauffyr.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share.”

7. Your California privacy rights

  • Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect.
  • Delete personal information we collected from you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it via the Site).
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — including providing services, maintaining records, and complying with legal, tax, and accounting obligations — after which we delete or de-identify it.

Flight-alert sign-ups (your email address, the flight number and date, and your delay threshold) are deleted automatically 30 days after the flight arrives, or 30 days after you sign up if we never receive an arrival time. Flight-tracker searches are not linked to you: results are held in server memory for up to 90 seconds, and IP addresses are held in memory for about a minute only to limit the number of searches.

Nearby-city suggestions: on the home page and service pages we may use your IP address, transiently and only on our own server, to suggest the nearest city we have a page for. The address is not stored, and the suggestion is approximate. Your browser's precise location is used only if you click “Use my location”; the coordinates are rounded, used once to find the nearest city, and not stored. A city you choose is remembered in your browser for 30 days as a city ID only, never your location or IP address.

Chauffyr mobile app

If you use the Chauffyr mobile app, your account holds your name, email address, mobile number and password, along with your saved places, text conversations and notification settings, and the trips and payments you make.

You can delete your account in the app at any time: Account → Delete my account. If you no longer have the app, you can request deletion at chauffyr.com/api/legal/delete-account; we email you a confirmation link before we act on the request.

When your account is deleted, your name, email address, mobile number and password are deleted, as are your saved places, text conversations and notification settings, and any upcoming rides are cancelled.

We keep past trip and payment records with personal details removed, for accounting and legal requirements (generally up to 7 years). This follows the retention approach in section 8.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Third-party links and services

The Site links to and embeds third-party services (reservation platform, mapping, aviation data, and events tools). We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

12. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

13. International visitors

Chauffyr is based in the United States, and information we collect is processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above.
