Two Sprinter trims for private groups
A private group ride is a different booking shape from a sedan or SUV — the vehicle is the venue, the chauffeur is the host, and the wrong class is more disruptive than it looks on paper. Chauffyr runs two Mercedes-Benz Sprinter trims for group transport. The Jet Sprinter Van seats up to eight in captain's chairs with workstations, power at every seat and a galley cabinet — the chauffeur's answer to flying private with a staff team. The Executive Sprinter seats up to thirteen in a bench-plus-captains configuration with the same materials, same chauffeur standard and the same Chauffyr dispatch desk. Private van chauffeur service, luxury Sprinter van charter and executive Sprinter group transport all describe the same product line.
Jet Sprinter Van vs Executive Sprinter
The Jet Sprinter Van is a seven- or eight-seat executive van with individual captain's chairs that recline and rotate, a worktop between facing pairs, 110-volt power at every seat and a galley cabinet for bottled water, snacks and briefcases. It is the right class for a flight crew or a board subcommittee that wants to work in-cabin. The Executive Sprinter is a thirteen-seat long-wheelbase van with a mix of captain's chairs and bench rows, built for whole-team moves — incentive groups, wedding parties, delegation details. Both run the same chauffeur quality and the same Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis.
Vehicle class comparison
Four vehicle classes, four shapes of day. Pick by headcount and by whether anyone needs to work in-cabin.
Private group vs group transportation
Chauffyr runs two parallel group lines. Private group transportation (this page) is the premium Sprinter product — captain's chairs on the VIP Jet, workstations, galley, same standard the private-aviation guests expect. /services/group-transportation is the broader delegation and incentive product, with convoy coordination, multi-vehicle moves and protocol handling. For a wedding party or a nine-person corporate boardroom day, private group is the right booking. For a thirty-person incentive move across three vehicles with staged pickups, group transportation is the right booking.
Hourly math for a group day
An eight-hour Executive Sprinter day at $175 per hour is $1,400 before gratuity, for up to thirteen guests. An eight-hour Jet Sprinter Van day at $225 per hour is $1,800 before gratuity, for up to eight guests. Four separate sedans for the same eight hours would run $3,360 (4 × 8 h × $105) plus coordination overhead and the problem of splitting the group between four cars. The Sprinter also lets the group ride together between stops, which is the whole point of booking group transport in the first place. For wine days and incentive programmes, the Sprinter hourly minimum is six hours.
Luggage, bikes, instruments and gear
The Executive Sprinter long-wheelbase has a dedicated rear-cargo bay behind the seats that holds twelve to thirteen 28-inch checked bags with everyone in-cabin, or eight bags plus bike cases, cello or guitar cases, or oversize camera gear. For film crews and touring musicians, specify the gear list at reservation and the desk pre-plans the loadout — including whether to drop the rear bench to free the third row for cases. The Jet Sprinter Van is tighter on cargo (its interior is tilted toward passenger comfort), so if the booking is cargo-heavy, choose the Executive Sprinter.
Policies — hourly, overrun and parking
Private group bookings are hourly with a six-hour minimum, 15-minute increments after. The chauffeur holds the vehicle at every stop; standard local routing is included inside the booked window. If the day runs over, the desk texts you as the clock crosses the booked window and the chauffeur stays at the booked hourly rate — nothing is billed to you without a prior OK. Venue parking (ballparks, galas, hotels) is passed through at cost where paid parking is required; the desk flags the venue fee at booking so it is on the quote, not the invoice.
Loading, boarding and route briefing
Private group bookings include a short pre-trip briefing: the chauffeur confirms the pickup order, the vehicle loading plan for luggage and gear, and the stop sequence for the day. On wedding bookings, the chauffeur coordinates with the venue coordinator on exact arrival window and photographer timing; on corporate bookings, the chauffeur coordinates with the event lead on VIP-arrival door and staging. The Executive Sprinter long-wheelbase stages at venues that accept full-size vehicles; where a venue restricts to standard-vehicle access only, the desk swaps to multi-SUV at the booking stage so the group is never caught at a drop-off that cannot accept the booked vehicle class.
Privacy for VIP groups
Named signs are left off by default unless you ask for them, and the chauffeur is briefed on any no-photograph rules you set for the trip. NDAs and confidentiality agreements are available on request for government and VIP clients.
