Why multi-country trips need one desk
Point-to-point chauffeur service becomes interesting the moment a traveller's week crosses more than one city. The problem isn't the single ride from a residence to a boardroom — any competent local operator can run that leg. The problem is handoff: making sure the chauffeur in Zurich on Tuesday night is reading the same brief as the chauffeur in Singapore on Thursday morning, that your preferences for seat position, water temperature and conversation level follow you across time zones, and that if something unusual comes up at the last stop the next desk already knows about it before you call. Chauffyr runs point-to-point service in 52 countries through a vetted affiliate network — audited for insurance, licensing, fleet age and chauffeur standards — but what unifies the experience is the single 24/7 US-based desk that owns every booking from quote to final invoice.
One desk, one standard across 52 countries
Point-to-point chauffeur service worldwide only works if the quote-to-ride experience is identical across our 749+ city network. Chauffyr runs its own fleet in Northern California (SFO, SJC, OAK, APC, CCR, STS, SMF home-base airports) operated under CA PUC TCP #41898-A. Chauffyr is a DBA of Got Luxury Ride (Global Luxury Ride), 830 School St #10, Napa, CA 94559 (CPUC TCP #41898-A). Outside California, we coordinate vetted local affiliate operators through one US-based 24/7 desk that owns every booking end-to-end. A guest in Milan calls the same number a guest in Hong Kong calls; the same reservations agent builds both bookings, same fare quoted in USD, same confirmation screen. The vetted affiliate's name does not appear anywhere the guest can see it.
Preferences on every booking
Tell us the principal's preferences with each booking — vehicle class by city (sedan in Zurich, SUV in Dubai), seat, beverage, conversational preference — and they are written into that booking's confirmation and passed to the chauffeur. On a multi-city itinerary, include them with each leg so every chauffeur has the same note before they open the car door.
Upfront USD quotes, worldwide
Every Chauffyr point-to-point quote is an upfront USD quote including tolls, parking and airport fees (a 20% gratuity is added when you book), locked when you book — regardless of the local currency the vetted affiliate operates in. The desk converts, hedges and absorbs the FX risk; the guest sees a clean USD number on the quote screen and on the invoice. For expense coding and corporate accounts this matters: a travel manager running a global roadshow does not want twelve currencies on one trip summary. Tolls, airport fees, fuel surcharges and local VAT (where applicable to the service) are all included. No mid-trip meter adjustment, no post-ride price change.
Typical point-to-point routes
The most-booked Chauffyr point-to-point routes are the airport pairs — SFO ↔ San Francisco, SFO ↔ Napa, JFK ↔ Midtown, LAX ↔ Beverly Hills, LHR ↔ Mayfair, DXB ↔ Downtown. Intercity point-to-point also runs on upfront USD quotes — SFO ↔ Lake Tahoe, LAX ↔ Palm Springs, London ↔ Oxford, Milan ↔ Lake Como. Every one of these pairs is quoted live by the engine for California routes and by the desk for the global network.
When to pick point-to-point vs hourly
Point-to-point is one upfront quote for a single A-to-B ride — the chauffeur drops you and ends the shift. Hourly keeps the chauffeur with you for a booked block, waits at every stop, and is priced per hour per vehicle class with a four-hour minimum (six hours for Sprinters). For three or more stops with any waiting between them, hourly is almost always the right call; for a single clean leg (airport to residence, hotel to boardroom), point-to-point is cheaper. The desk will size the right product at the quote stage if you describe the day shape rather than just the endpoints.
Policies — wait, change, cancellation
Every airport point-to-point includes 60 minutes of complimentary wait starting from actual landing with live flight tracking. Non-airport pickups include 15 minutes of complimentary wait; over-wait is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate. Mid-ride drop-off changes are re-quoted by the desk before the chauffeur reroutes — nothing is billed to you after the fact without a prior OK. Cancellation on sedan and SUV point-to-point is free up to 2 hours before pickup; Sprinter class is 24 hours. Full policy details live on /policies.
