Most trips between San Francisco or SFO and Marin cross the Golden Gate Bridge, which opened to vehicles on May 28, 1937, and runs 1.7 miles including its abutments, according to the National Park Service. Bridge tolls are among the costs included in a Chauffyr quote, so they do not appear later on the receipt. Trips from OAK usually come across the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge instead. The National Park Service requires an advance parking or shuttle reservation for every personal vehicle and shuttle rider at Muir Woods National Monument, booked through gomuirwoods.com, and the monument has no cell phone or Wi-Fi service. If a chauffeured drop-off is part of your Marin day, check the current Muir Woods rules for commercial vehicles before you book and tell the desk your reservation time. Because there is no signal at the monument, agree a pickup time with your chauffeur before you walk in rather than planning to call.
Sausalito, incorporated in 1893, sits at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge. Golden Gate Ferry runs from the Sausalito Ferry Landing at Humboldt and Anchor Streets to the San Francisco Ferry Building, so a common plan is the ferry one way and a car the other; the chauffeur can meet the boat at the landing.
